Synner is a school first, community second, and a lifestyle brand last for guitarists and musicians to learn and connect together. Since 2019, we've been partnering with Synner and making great progress on growing engagement and expanding on their ecosystem. Looking back at the project as a whole, we compared the beginning of the year that marked the re-brand of the community to the year following.
Developing a community ecosystem can go far in building strong bonds between your users, but in order to be successful, the ecosystem must fill a need that can't be provided elsewhere and adapt to community feedback. We worked to define the needs of users, the current functionality of the site and goals for future features, and what improvements we could make to strengthen our network of users.
As we created the strategy plan and executed it, each decision was tailored to the community and guided by questions such as what would student guitarists need to further their skills and what do fans of Synner want to see. We were attentive to user feedback throughout the entire process as we implemented new features and content. By having surveys, community webinars, and open feedback discussions with members we could guarantee more long-term success since the community was part of the process.
We have the most badass team of all time, team Audentio. Sarah, Ian, Alex, Mike, and others. These people are unbelievable, they are community gurus and they’re getting started with the greatest tools on planet earth for you guys to communicate with each other, to help each other, to benefit from whatever experiences you’re having on the site.
During this project, we introduced a subscription model in order to begin covering community costs. To provide value to those who’ve purchased subscriptions, we’ve introduced care packages and send them annually.
Strategy aside, we’ve been involved with every technological need that Synner has had over the years and has envolved to one our most feature-rich and comprehensive projects to date. We built the community from the ground up that included data migration, a full redesign, a lesson system, a native app, streaming network, and so much more.
Along with a community, a streaming channel can help build real connections with an engaged audience which was the next logical step in the future-forward vision both the client and our team had for Synner. We developed a white-label streaming solution that could offer full freedom in branding, monetization, and control over data.
More commonly seen, one streamer — our client in this case — has their own dedicated channel to go live but our platform allows for multiple streamers from the community to share their creative content.
We chose this for a few reasons: 1) it gives a voice to the community 2) creates a space for a variety of topics and viewpoints and 3) a new revenue stream that can be shared by the owner and other streamers. In the first month of SynTv, we’ve seen:
From the launch of SynTV and onwards, we’ve been a guide in bringing the vision to life with end-to-end event production support. Our community managers have been planning and coordinating the event schedule, communicating and promoting the events, and designing all visuals.
Another level of care is important to maintain an engaged audience and healthy culture that continues to grow.
Today’s internet user is more likely than ever to be browsing the community using a mobile device, so it was crucial that we developed a native app for Synner. The community app provides a framework for an intuitive experience and offers options for unique customization and integrates with our white-label streaming solutions, Realms, as well as the web community for a seamless user experience. The app includes:
Ahead of the first streaming event, the Synner app was released to the community with an overwhelmingly positive reception.
View on App Store and on Google Play.
An artist himself, our client wanted to infuse his brand with off-beat imagery that gave our designer Megan the wonderful opportunity to creatively explore the brand. It was a full explorative process that included brand elements, social media graphics, promotional ads, animations, productive visuals, and NFTs.
To this point, we’ve been a dedicated resource to the client and Synner community by offering a guiding hand, support, and our to make the community as successful as it can be. Moving forward, we plan to maximize the effectiveness of the app and SynTV to encourage continued engagement as well as exploring the interests of the client through a NFT marketplace.
For the past few years, I've had the amazing opportunity to grow the Synner community alongside the Audentio team. From the beginning when we started as an online school and community, their team has always been attentive to the needs of our users. Now the Synner brand has evolved into so much more with a streaming platform and mobile app as well. Through it all, they strategized and managed the community to make it the fun and engaging space it is now. Without Mike, Alex, and the whole team pushing my ideas into reality, supporting and encouraging users in the community, and building all the intricate technical aspects, Synner wouldn't be the mind bending experience it is today. I'm so stoked we get to partner on all of these incredible projects and hope for many more in the future.
